Maybe people won’t vote simply for the more iconic album in this match.
As much as I like Mercyful Fate and recognize the importance it has in metal canon, I’m still going to end up voting for By Inheritance, a lesser known and less influential record that I happen to still like more. It’s better produced, has equal bar-for-bar energy, and blends thrash metal movements with heavy metal bliss pretty masterfully to the point it really is a tragedy Artillery isn’t as well-known as any of their contemporaries. They definitely deserve to be in the same conversation as Metal Church, Testament, Kreator, Sodom, and so forth.

I think I'm going with By Inheritance but damn this is close.
If this were Don't Break The Oath instead of Melissa, I'd lean Mercyful Fate, but Artillery is so good. Great matchup though
