Amongst my social circles, this is considered one of the most disgusting albums of all time, but I think it has its fun moments. "You Shook Me All Night Long" can turn a blue-collar bar into a place of communion, and the title track has added value to so many movies I love (particularly the original Iron Man). I normally can't stand Mutt Lange, but I feel like it's too cheap to hate on this, even if I'm not ready to praise it much, either.

Even for a hard rock album, it's pretty generic. But it's a lot of fun, and it has some of their best songs. "Hells Bells", "Back In Black", and "You Shook Me All Night Long" are undeniably the fan favourites here, but "Shoot To Thrill" is my personal favourite.

Talk about an album that I loved when I was young that I now think has pretty much no merit...

"I'm sick and tired of people saying that we put out 11 albums that sound exactly the same. In fact, we've put out 12 albums that sound exactly the same."

Angus Young

Never truer words said. However, this is still a very enjoyable album and I personally think there are many great songs on it.

Exactly. AC/DC found a formula that worked and never deviated from it. But what does seperate Back In Black from their other albums is simply that this has better songs. More of them. Back In Black is clearly their peak, and it deserves the accolades it gets because it has more good songs than any other album by this band. Almost everything here is catchy as hell, the riffs are solid, and the songs are smarter and better written. That's what makes this more enjoyable as a whole album than anything else they have ever done. Sure, they may have done the same thing from album to album...but they did it far better here than anywhere else.

Agree with almost everyone here. This is a very good album full of great riffs and it rocks hard.
It has a simple purpose but fulfills it gloriously.

Classic teenage boy, sophomoric, cliche rock about partying and chasing skirt. Nothing of substance here. And it's marvelous. Riffs to spare.

Sometimes this album bores me to death and sometimes this album is fun.
