I got this idea from the Velocities in Music guys. Basically, anyone who's interested, we submit a song or two into a pool to be voted for, and whoever gets the most votes goes up in the rankings. The point is really more to introduce people to something they haven't heard before. The rankings are pretty arbitrary, but I thought it might be fun anyway, as it makes it a bit competitive in trying to come up with better songs each week.
If anyone's interested, we could start with a simple submission of whatever song you want, and then if that's successful, add in some themed weeks (songs under two minutes, songs about death etc.)
If you're interested at all, just comment below. If there's enough people (don't need many), then I'll set up a seperate voting thread and you can submit your songs.

oh hey there's been stuff like that done in the games forum before, it's fun but having a thread for every single matchup can get a bit overwhelming. I'd be down but it'd be cool to have some sort of external voting thing that was a bit cleaner

Yeah, I get that. I hardly ever post, so I'm pretty new. I might make a Rankly page for this, then. That seems like a pretty easy way to avoid making separate pages. Thanks for the advice!

OK. There aren't any entries here yet, obviously, but I just made a Rankly list, which can be found here:

No need to register in order to vote, and anyone can post songs, pending approval. I also thought, maybe we could switch moderators each week. It's up to the moderator to pick a theme and make sure that voting and submission are in line (one vote per person, 2 songs per person per week). They can still submit their own songs, but I thought it would give a bit of space for variety and creativity with the themes.
Is this something that interests anybody? Let me know

Probably about enough interest now to get started. Anyone is still free to join later though!
When I get time, I'll post a couple of songs. But please feel free to add your own at the moment. Preferably something you think others won't have heard. Provide a URL for access to the track on Spotify or Youtube. And remember to also vote for another user's track. We'll keep it at one vote per person for now.
