|
News is reporting 20+ fatalities and a number of injuries at Ariana Grande's show in Manchester. I hate that this seems to keep happening at shows, music should be an escape not a further risk.
No clue what caused this and don't want to point fingers but wanted to create a thread to let people know, recognize the tragedy, and check in with our British BEA users. We're here for you if you need anything, if you knew anyone there, if this is just shaking for you, whatever.
Love y'all, love each other, and send your love to Manchester _________________

Details are still really vague... from what I know, it was a suicide bomber outside the venue. Hospitals are saying they're getting nails out of victims right now... that's about all I know.
But yeah, absolutely terrible. Hope everyone on BEA is okay. I'm not sure if we have any specific users who would go to an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, but it'd be great if people checked in.
Grande herself is fine, but this is going to be devastating on her. Absolutely gut-wrenching for this to happen at a concert.

Pound for pound Manchester's perhaps the greatest music city on the Earth. Everyone arrives at a concert at varying times but everyone leaves at the same time so it makes sense a device would be detonated after the finish to maximise casalities. Words aren't fit to describe someone who'd let off a nail bomb at a concert full of teenage girls but maybe that's the message they're trying to send anyway. Dunno what you'd do with anyone connected with this event. Maybe hand them over to MOSSAD to see if they've any ideas.

This is terribly sad.
Also with this, and the Eagles of Death Metal concert in Paris...
I'm just sad that going to a concert can have these outcomes. Concerts should be a positive thing, not something to be afraid of.

I'm not a nervous person, but I would be lying if I didn't say I was am a little freaked about going to the first show of the Roger Waters tour Friday night.
Hope this kind of thing can be prevented in the future.
