  • Post subject: what are some good albums sung in French?

I really love hearing people sing in French, but there are so few bands or artists that I'm aware of that sing in French. I have a grand total of only 5 artists:

Stereolab
Air
Plastic Bertrand. (the guy who sang the old New Wave hit "Ca Plane Pour Moi")
Grace Jones
Saint Tropez. (a really good old disco group)

Which ones do you have? Or which good ones would you recommend?

Françoise Hardy
Brigitte Fontaine
Serge Gainsbourg
Emmanuelle Parrenin
Colette Magny
Isabelle Aubret

Plenty more, but that should be a good starting dish. Do you speak any French?

If you like Hip hop , and can understand french , I recommend you Orelsan/Casseurs Flowteurs ,

IAM

and MC Solaar

but as I said , if you don't understand the lyrics , you probably won't like it.

Georges Brassens made really great songs too ^^
