Genre had kind of been oversaturated after Green Day's success brought with them Sum 41, Good charlotte and seems to only get worse after that.Nevertheless there some standouts within the genre.I'll cover the basics and would like some recommendations on other great Pop Punk albums

Singles Going Steady by Buzzcocks

The Undertones by The Undertones

And one of the best first listens i had in a long time.Surprised these guys weren't as big as Libertines or Strokes back then.

Guitar Romantic by The Exploding Hearts

Not quite sure where pop blends into punk, but I'd say...

Parallel Lines by Blondie

Ramones by Ramones

U.S. version of

The Clash by The Clash

Combat Rock by The Clash

Specials by The Specials

So much of what was punk has become pop. I might also add Adam Ant and Ian Dury, along with some others I'm forgetting.

You'd probably maybe like some of the west coast punk that wasn't Green Day:

It's A Girl by Sweet Baby

Night Shift At The Thrill Factory by The Mr. T Experience

Milo Goes To College by The Descendents

Other than that, try

The Dopamines by The Dopamines

THE right answer is

...And Out Come The Wolves by Rancid

Although its mostly like a ska, throw back to the clash pink with a poppy side less so. So, maybe this isn't the right answer. Check it out either way.

Always found the genre of "pop-punk" a bit of an oxymoron but if i was to hazard a guess

Devo - Are We Not Men? We Are Devo!

Nofx - Punk in Drublic

The Only Ones - The Only Ones

Weezer - Weezer (1994) has been suggested

for a recent one

Against Me - Trangender Dysphoria Blues certainly a more poppy approach than reguarly found by this lot

Whoa Gowie how do you know them? My dad used to be friends with the lead singer, he's told me bunches of stories of how the singer would just pop behind counters at coffee shops and make people white mochas for the hell of it, or how he rapped "Green Eggs and Ham" on a radio station after hearing the first hip hop song he'd ever heard. He's a really chill guy ... but I didn't think they were well known!
