To top off what seems to be David Bowie day round here, lets have a concept album poll. Again may be the fever talking (been home sick all day going nuts).

Pretty lame selection.
The correct answer is Quadrophenia. _________________ I love all music. It makes you feel like living. Silence is death.

I agree. I'm with Wolfie on this one.

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is the concept of the album?
Also, I really don't think Sgt Pepper is a true concept album.

Well according to Pink Floyd, the concept is, "things that can drive a man insane." Kind of sounds like a lame concept, but it works. Here's a more descriptive review of the concept found on another website, if you're interested:
"Dark Side of the Moon is a concept album. The album covers the faults of humanity and the pressures of modern life that can drive a man to insanity, including mortality, religion, money, the encroachment of old age, society and conflict. The track "On the Run" represents pressures of traveling. "Time" discusses how quickly life can slip by. "The Great Gig in the Sky" was known as the "Religion Song" during recording, and has a religious or death theme. "Money" talks about the greed in the world, and how money is the "root of all evil today". "Us and Them" deals with conflict and war. "Brain Damage" is about mental illness."

MARVIN GAYE IS A CONCEPT ALBUM?!!?!?!?!? I DINT NO THAT!! 😮
Really, I'm shocked that, with this being Radioheadquarters, nobody's suggested that OK Computer is a concept album. I would say it is in the same way as DSOTM; the songs all revolve around technology controlling your life.
But as for real "rock operas" (albums with an actual plot), I've recently been obsessed with Pinkerton and In the Aeroplane.

Yes! According to Wikipedia, this is the concept:
"The album is told from the point of view of a Vietnam War veteran returning to the country he had been fighting for, and seeing nothing but injustice, suffering and hatred."
I didn't know that either...
Are you saying that DSOTM and Ok Computer both have the same concept?

I gotta go with In the Wee Small Hours of these options. I have a question for everyone though, for you to consider an album a "concept album"do you believe that it should be telling a narrative of some kind? For instance Neil Young's Tonight's the Night, it doesn't tell any sort of story, but it is a very conceptual album, a reaction to a specific event, being the death of two of Neil's friends and fellow musicians. Would this be a concept album?
How about Brian Eno's Ambient 1: Music For Airports, obviously it doesn't have lyrics so it couldn't be considered a concept album in the rock opera sense, but at the same time it was made to illicit a very particular reaction, and to serve an exact purpose. It isn't anything but concept. Does that make any sense?
