Since Prog inherites elements from classical music some artists have a habit of writing rock suites. Songs, usually ten to twenty minutes in lenght, with different parts. My favourite examples would be 2112 by Rush and Pink Floyds Shine on You Crazy Diamond. What are yours?

Actually, a couple of their entire albums could be seen as Suites. Since the songs are all connected both physically and theme wise. Like the album Days of Future Passed.
My other favorite is Nektar.. Remember the Future. It's actually two Suites, one on each side of the original album.
And of course I love the suite of songs And You and I by Yes.

I love all the choices listed so far and, like you, the Rush and Floyd were the first to come to mind.
For me, the mac daddy of prog suites is now something more recent,

This is a masterwork of neo-prog. As you would expect, the musicianship is top notch. The song structures are sprawling, but still coherent, and they are filled with surprisingly catchy and hummable melodies.
It clocks in at a whopping 26:47, but never fails to hold my interest.
The Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence for me can hold its own with 2112 and Supper's Ready. _________________ Attention all planets of the solar federation: We have assumed control.
