I don't know if this poll has already been made on this website, but this is a specific kind of subgenre that I've always found fascinating, maybe because I myself tend to write about sadness, loss, and all kinds of depressing stuff, so I wanted to know what you guys think is the best album of this kind.

In this poll I've only included albums written by a single songwriter, thus disqualifying albums like Unknown pleasures and Skeleton tree. I'm sure I omitted a lot of great albums that I haven't heard or that I've just forgotten about. Please feel free to comment.

Absolutely agree. That album was beautiful and absolutely devastating. It so perfectly exemplifies grief and loss
