The entire thing is great, but 'I Will Dare' is such an untouchable, rollicking, real start to a record that everything else understandably pales ever so slightly in comparison. But whatever, up the fucking 'Mats. Some days, I think they might be the best band ever, if only because I'm so ridiculously jealous of their day ones. "How old am I? Let's count the rings around my eyes." People don't write lines that good, as a rule. It's simply not fair. 'Androgynous' hits them pleasure centres too. So yah.

That answering machine... it always echoes in my subconscious for hours afterwards. Passion and self-loathing have never coexisted so well as on Let It Be.
