Big fan of this album, even if it doesn't reach the consistency of Lonesome Crowded West or Moon & Antarctica. Dramamine, Breakthrough, Custom Concern, Beach Side Property, Head South, and Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset are all classics that set the stage for what would come later.

The first Modest Mouse record is a pretty interesting and a solid debut overall and it has some of the greatests songs in their entire discography; Dramamine is one of my all time favourite songs and Custom Concern, Lounge and Talking Shit About A Pretty Sunset are all very good songs too. Love the lo-fi production on this thing and the rawness and nihilistic themes it displays add so much attitude to the album. To think that only a year later they will blow it out of the fucking water with The Lonesome Crowded West it's just nuts.

It really does work well as a road trip album, it's one of their better records

But if you ask me, all of their records are solid
