Rough match-up. I love Chutes Too Narrow, but I was never able to get into Oh Inverted World. Not really sure why, New Slang is pleasant enough. But not pleasant enough to make me vote against what used to be my favorite hip hop song. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.

I love Daylight and have for a long time. Contender for my favorite Aesop Rock song. The beat is amazing and the hook is surprisingly great. I can see both sides on that lyric.
As for New Slang, it's just a perfectly-written song. Abstract and poetic lyrics that come into clearer focus with closer listening and contemplation. Incredible catchiness. Instrumentally and vocally outstanding, but also understated. Potent emotionally, evoking melancholy and nostalgia in a way that can catch you off guard. By the way, I've never seen Garden State.
