Both are top choices for their genres. I'd be happy seeing either move on.

Likewise, but hip-hop's getting slaughtered, so I'm going with Big Boi here (even though I associate that song a lot more with the 10s).

Again, the National are a band that would seem right up my alley but I have no feeling positive or negative towards them whatsoever. A Just-There band in my eyes, not a hate in any regard just utter indifference which can actually be worse. It's not the worst song in the tournament, but Big Boi's song is something that makes me feel at least something even if it's not his best so will go with that.

i've felt this way about the national for a long time too. like, i struggle to "actively" listen to them. they're just there. it's not even background music - it's a void.

and on the other hand, big boi is rather charming. i may not be a huge hip-hop-head, but i've liked everything i've heard from him, so an easy vote for me.

For the translucents like me, The National r pretty hard to beat, and this is them bringing their A game. That dude's voice is just perfect and the arrangements are always fantastic. Still need to check out their latest, but easily one of the best bands of the late 2000s easily.

The National often do little for me. Their first two records I find have a bit more life to them. This Fake Empire track though is probably top 2 songs of theirs (Turtleneck being the other). Maybe Ohio Bloodbuzz as well as the 3rd. So it's hard for me to vote against their best vs an artist who I actually dig more, but this track didn't really do much for me. So National.

Yeah National has always been a cool band which I like, but not as much as I should. I donโ€™t agree with them being overrated, but I also donโ€™t think theyโ€™re one of the best indie groups around. Maybe some day Iโ€™ll like them more...
