Despite it beating out some formidable songs, I'm liking the cinderella story of Blunt in this tournament. Parquet Courts track is good too,, but I'm a bit surprised it made it this far especially considering it's former competition. Either way, I just like the new experiences of 50 Cent more so easy vote for Mr. Blunt.
Surprised that '50 Cent' got this far, but largely pleasantly so, I think, even if 'Numbers on the Board' would've made for a worthy tournament winner. I really loved Parquet Courts' snotty, wordy take on Pavement's knotty slackerism the first time around, and (somewhat surprisingly) it has not lost too much of its lustre over time, but I'm going with Dean's ominous impressionism here, which is kinda like a distinctly black British take on Nick Cave, in the best way possible. _________________ 2021 in full effect.
