" Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak/
Somewhere in this town..."

So that would be at the jail then, Phil??!!
Not somewhere random lol.

All cheesy jokes aside this is a terrific album, probably my favourite of Thin Lizzy.
Such a great band.
I wish Whiskey In The Jar was on here.
Then it would be even harder to beat.

One of the albums that, in my youth, let me know I was a hard rock guy.

Amazing that this and the equally excellent Johnny the Fox were both released in 1976. Thin Lizzy was peaking when other hard rock greats were in decline.

A completely unique and mesmerising hard rock band at their peak. Classic stuff.

I think Thin LIzzy are one of the greatest bands ever, and I have to say I really enjoy Jailbreak. Boys are Back in Town, Cowboy Song, and Emerald are all amazing. However, I don't think this is as consistent as most of their albums... at least not the classic run of albums from Vagabonds of the Western World through Black Rose. You can tell a lot of the songs were rushed and they didn't have the time to experiment and add in as many instrumental sections. I've never understood the hype of the title track, always thought it was one of their weaker songs. Not to say this isn't a good album, and none of the tracks are particularly bad, but I think it's definitely not their best album.
