It's perfect, in the way that Murmur or 36 Chambers is perfect: their authors got better at certain things, more competent, more in control, more willing to explore different ideas, but it inevitably remains impossible to ever recreate that thrill of the new, of discovery, of a distinctive artist arriving on the scene in a way that is definite and deliberate and thoroughly contagious. There are albums released since which I prefer, but this is such a bold mission statement that everything else seems like an addendum, frankly.
