for me, the first thing that caught my attention was her eyes. were her eyes rather. but what truly won me over was her smile. getting her to laugh... that little head bob she does. as i've gotten to know her, i've found that she's got a really big heart and just wants to love on everybody around her. that's got to be her most attractive trait.

For me it is the length. Before I even listen to the song I look at the numbers to see how many minutes and or seconds it lasts. Sometimes I want a short and digestible tune while other times I want something big, epic, powerful. I think that's what I first notice most of the time.

First attracts me is likely the timbre - tones used etc.
But what keeps my attention is definitely the rhythm section. If it has a boring rhythm section it usually takes a decent amount of convincing afterwards for me to want to stick around. And this goes for all music... as a really simple example, think of Beethoven's 5th... the reason it is universally memorable is because of the rhythm used seconded by the timbre used.
It's the same reason why I find U2 so intriguing musically. Solid rhythm section with incredibly intriguing timbre in the guitar/work Edge/Eno does (well the good stuff at least).
Lyrics are often DEAD last... like I could love a song for 5 years and listen to it a bunch, and only after 5 years of listening to it on repeat I'll realize it said something about love or tacos or something and I'll be like, yeah, go tacos! Unless of course the lyrics are especially painful or especially beautiful... somehow that has a habit of sticking out more. Sometimes not.
