Chance is my favourite discovery of the tournament so far.
High Risk Behaviour stood no chance (sorry for the awful pun), why do they have to remind us Ramones were a thing? Ok, if you are into punk, you are going to love this.
Chance gets my vote.

Chance is the best album I discovered in this tournament. An obvious vote for Texier.

Chance was good, but I'm not going to be voting against my own pick, an album that I essentially played every day during lockdown whilst stuck away from family in a different country.

High Risk Behaviour kept me sane last year whilst simultaneously making me a little bit insane.

Ditto this feeling, lovely album. I really enjoyed Chance so this was really close. Ultimately voted for The Chats.

Chats, it's a punk standout from 2020 while there were better jazz albums imo. Had a lot of fun listening to it on my long walks in the lockdown too.

My opinion of Chance is unchanged with a second listen. A very good album with some great songs and strong performances from Texier and company, yielding a high 3.5/5. High Risk Behaviour is a completely different animal, and a very fun and interesting record. Instrumentally, it bangs. Just pure uncut punk energy. Lyrically, I have a love/hate relationship with the chosen subject matter, The Chats' takes on it, and the subtexts. Despite some misgivings, it is quite a fine album, and barely misses my chart and my vote with a low 3.5/5.
