It's usually tagged as "folk rock," though I've also seen "British folk rock," "British roots-folk," and (once) "neo-folk." I guess there's just enough of a beat in there to avoid the dreaded "English pastoral" tag...

Anyway, this is probably their best album — and I also prefer it to anything Fairport Convention ever did, but that's just me.

I love this album. I have the CD. They sound good together and Linda Thompson has a great voice.
