After another relisten through their catalog recently, I’m pretty confident this is my favorite Vevet Underground album. I absolutely love the first two, but this one strikes a little bit more the nerve I crave out of Reed’s writing and the band’s presentation. Pale Blue Eyes followed by Jesus, my god.

I have changed my opinion this album recently, and in a dramatic fashion. It was originally my least favorite of the four, wedged weirdly in between the weirder, groundbreaking, harsher and more experimental first two albums, and the more poppy and radio friendly hit record. Each other album has taken the title of my favorite Velvet Underground album, and I left this album behind.

Then I relistened to it, after watching a video about the album; looking over each song. I decided to give the album another try which I hadn't in a long time. Then, the album finally clicked for me. It began its constant rotation in my car. I've listened to the regular version and the Closet Version as well. Soon, I came to realize the fact that it might be one of my favorite albums, and to my surprise, jumped all the way up into my top 10.

So, yeah, great album.
