I've been completely Overmono-pilled for a few years now, but the peak was 2023 when I saw them close a 4-day festival in style. 2023 also saw the release of their debut, several S-tier singles and quite possibly my favourite Boiler Room of all time (not counting the one in my city which was never released properly). Joy Orbison is another currently hot producer because of this year's Flight FM which has taken over dancefloors. Oh, and he's a scene legend to boot. Their pairing is always magic, and Kwengface delivers one of the year's best grime performances. It's a fantastic track.
Taleen Kali track is a wonderful mix of sounds, styles and ideas. Twee, noisy, psychedelic, poppy, but also rocks. The obvious comparison seems to be Hatchie, though Kali are more retro and slightly weirder in a good way. _________________ Overall chart Fake overall chart
Taleen Kali was definitely a fun little retro roller-coaster but Kwengface is def the best discovery of this tournament so far (though I have been listening to some Joy Orbison recently).
