Wow, didn’t realize how much this had changed. Good stuff. Barrett is a confounding, original (as in great) #1.
Surprised not to see Thriller somewhere near the top, unless I missed it … must be only one per artist?
What, no Twin Infinitives!?!? _________________ Best Classical

Thank you so much AH.
Thriller is a classic to me and is a clear honourable mention (I would put it in my top 130). Maybe it's because it's an obvious pick and The Girl Is Mine is a weak point (even though Billie Jean remains my most played song on my last two Spotify Wrapped).
But there are few artists featured on the list more than once, with MJ being one of them (Dangerous at #4 and HIStory at #36). Other artists like Eels, Damien Rice, XXXTentacion, Tim Buckley, and Nick Cave all have two albums each and of course Bob Dylan is here thrice. Damon Albarn is technically here thrice with a solo record, a Blur one and a Gorillaz one.
And there are no Twin Infinitives, because this is a list of albums that are not cool enough to be that album, which transcends music charts itself. _________________ My Top 100 :

Thanks and good point about the others that have multiples — guess I kinda just skimmed it over. I was more just surprised to not see Thriller with MJ being your favorite artist.
Naturally it also surprised me to seem MJ pushed from the top spot he had held for so long!
And yes, that’s an accurate analysis of Twin Infinitives _________________ Best Classical

Makes sense, the fact you were surprised it wasn't Thriller is also kind of my point with it being an obvious pick. Except for right before I heard HIStory for the first time in 2010, I don't think there've been a time where Thriller was my favorite MJ album. HIStory held the crown for 9 years until Dangerous took over (which was always my number 2 or 3 anyways). There's just something metaphysical and cryptic about his 90s music that hit me like nothing else in the world has done, which is why I have the higher remarks than his considered "big 3" (OFTW, Thriller, Bad).
My top 6 is interchangeable - almost like Rock Bottom and TMR are for you maybe - and I figured it would be a refreshing (considering he is my #1 and with the most amount of favorite songs of mine) to give the spot to another one of them. And Syd Barrett seemed to be the most unique yet non-controversial (picking Fleet Foxes, NMH or The Microphones could seem like a cop-out, and Hopsin would get me banned).
No Twin Infinitives, no Beatles, no Bowie - they're all too good for both you and me. I'm just sticking to Mid Buckley, Nick Vague and Robert Diet. _________________ My Top 100 :
