Each time I listen to this album I’m blown away by just how good it is. I don’t listen to it often, and I find it slipping down my charts, but that opening riff? Oh, the whole album is guitar heaven. Phe-nomenal.

To me, this is a really good example of how some albums can rank more highly within their year or decade context than they do (or should) all-time.
To wit, I've got this album ranked #1 for the year 1977, and #14 for the 1970s, but it's not on my all-time chart at all. But three other albums from 1977 are on it (Rocket to Russia, Never Mind the Bollocks, and Low) as well as several albums that are ranked lower on my 1970s chart. But whenever I go over my all-time chart, I don't really see anything I'd want to delete from it in order to fit Marquee Moon in there somewhere. (This is one of the reasons why we need bigger chart sizes, by the way.)
So... is this normal? Do other people care about such inconsistencies? Or if they do, am I in fact incompetent, at least when it comes to ranking 1970s albums? And what should the solution be, if any? Do I force myself to delete something from the all-time chart, or should I down-rank Marquee Moon on the other two charts? Perhaps more importantly, should I stop bothering all you fine people with such trivial and inconsequential conundrums?
It's a real puzzle, this one.

I don't quite understand that logic. Maybe in the sense that Marquee Moon fits better as an Album of The Year-record but you secretly enjoy those other punk albums more in general. But well, I don't use that ranking style. If you see a list of my favorite albums from 1977 (I've ranked this as my number #6 from that year), best believe they're in that same order on my 70s decade chart, and my all-time chart for those who made it.
