HELLO AGAIN!

As mentioned in my introduction, my main reason for being here was wanting to hear new sounds and expand my music taste. to that end, I would love for some of you guys to give me some suggestions on your personal favorite albums/eps/singles.

This whole site looks really cool, cant wait to see what you guys make me listen to!

That's what the charts are for — you can look at anyone's charts to find out what they like, you don't necessarily need specific recommendations from them. At the same time though, we're all (well, most of us) happy to make specific recommendations too, but you have to create a chart or two yourself so that we'll know what genres, etc., you already like and maybe also tell us if there are any genres you really don't like so that we won't spend time recommending stuff that you're definitely not going to like. Or, alternatively, you could just tell us here in a forum post. I myself, for example, don't like country music, disco/EDM, or hair metal, and you'd know that if you looked at any of my charts, but it's selfish and unfair of me to ask you to spend time looking at my charts to find all that out when I could just tell you in a simple sentence like I just did. But that's also a trick, because there's always a chance you'll want to look at my charts anyway in case you're curious to see if I'm telling the truth. And if you look at my charts you might give them good ratings, which boosts my personal ego and causes me to think I'm somehow more interesting than I actually am.

I have different tastes than most people here. My favorite is Christian / Gospel music, but I also like ballads (actually, I love ballads), classic Motown and other classic soul, some jazz, some blues, some country, instrumental Hawaiian, Bossa Nova, Boleros, Spanish Guitar, etc. I love listening to great vocalists and beautiful harmonies.

I love Lauren Talley.

Tell us a few different albums/songs you like and then people have something to base their recommendations on.

This is so much harder than it should be I swear. there are lots of mainstream albums that I have enjoyed recently:

-GNX by Kendrick Lamar
-Chromakopia by Tyler the Creator
-From Zero by Linkin Park
-Punk Tactics by Joey Valence & Brae
-From Mars to Sirius by Gojira

all of these are pretty standard, and not very explorative at all, for the more indie (and typically more experimental)

-AND THEY MINE FOR OUR BODIES by Gao the Arsonist
-A Lonely Sinner by samlrc
-Prefer Not to Say by Tanger
-Rat Taxi by Louie Zong
-School Trip by The Vanished People
-Monarch of Monsters by Vylet pony

as for genres I'm not huge on, I'm not the hugest fan of country (I just don't relate to wanting to drive a big tractor ig) but that is the only real genre that I'm less likely to give a fair chance TBH. my philosophy is if it sounds good i listen.

sorry if this is unhelpful, but i really am a weird freak when it comes to music taste.

I don't like all country music, but some of it I really enjoy. All country music is not about wanting to drive a big tractor. You haven't heard much of it, if you think that's basically all there is to it. None of the country songs I listen to even mention tractors.

It was a joke about a specific country song I especially don't enjoy (she thinks my tractors sexy) but I totally see how this could come off as reductive to the whole genre.

To clarify, I have listened to a fair share of country (my parents were country buffs growing up) and I just don't relate to country culture as a whole, but I really like treaty oak revival and they are country.

I don't like "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" either. I have never heard of "Treaty Oak Revival". I might check them out.

I just had a look at Treaty Oak Revival on Apple Music. All of their releases have an explicit symbol on them, so I will not be checking them out after all. What kind of recommendations do you want?
