I've got interested in post-rock lately. So far, I've only tried Spiderland by Slint, but I have the feeling that it's not "pure" post-rock (despite the fact that I don't know much about the genre). Any recomendations for my next post-rock album?

I also added a poll from where I (as well as others) can get inspiration. Don't know if they're all "pure" post-rock, but what the hell.

Nice list of bands!

Maybe you'd like World's End Girlfriend or Mono.

- God Is An Astronaut
- Explosions In The Sky
- This Will Destroy You
- Powder! Go Away
- Red Sparowes
- Caspian

Try Godspeed You ! Black Emperor. Genre defining band : field recordings, long titles and all.

Amazing video of an essential post-rock track. "Sleep" off "Lift Yr Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven" :

You should try Labradford. Great band. Mi Media Naranja is my favourite album by them.

Which GY!BE album is considered to be their essential? I strongly think about buying one of their ones.

And I'll be the Talk Talk and Tortoise poster (Tortoise actually features David Pajo, from Slint, on guitar on the two albums I posted)

Either :

"Fโ™ฏAโ™ฏโˆž"

or

"Lift Yr Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven"

Pick the first if you like dark-Spiderland tones, and the second if you liked my video.

The only truly great post-rock album I've ever listened to. Though Sigur Ros was decent, too.

Why would you make me choose between Gospeed You! Black Emperor and Mogwai?

WHAT KIND OF MONSTER ARE YOU?
