I'm unsure if this has been done (I know for sure there was a Best Year for albums tournament) but I would love to do a tournament for which year in cinema has been the best overall.

Would anyone be interested in participating (as long that this hasn't happened already)?

Aaaaand even though this is a tournament, would I permitted to keep this in the Movies & TV forum so it doesn't muddy the music tournaments that are going on?

I'd be down. Though I'd be concerned about recency bias being a factor. I think there should be a way to level it out with the nominations across different eras. I would not be interested if half the years nominated were 1990-present.

Yeah, I assume it would be the like the music game where each round would have someone running a year recommending 3 features and a short (or something like that.) I personally would love to represent 2000 in that regard.

I think I remember suggesting that a long, long time back (like back in 2013). It's a fun idea but might be tougher to do now with less people. I agree if it is done than the eras should be separated, like doing 1990-onward and maybe another for decades before that. Would be fun, would love to take on 97 if it's a-go.

I'd also recommend a 16-cap on the entries. Should be able to get that many people to participate.
