"I find it impossible to say that this one or that one is the best Pink Floyd album. I own 14 or 15 and love everyone of them just like children. They are all different and have personalities. Meddle is great and I could listen to Echoes on an endless loop. The one Pink Floyd album that can't seem to find any love from anyone but me is Ummagumma. it is definitely a headphones album! Maybe I just like it so much because when I first heard it 40 years ago I was tripping?"

""Meddle" is undoubtly Pink Floyd's most underated album. Released after a few years of experimental albums, such as "Atom Heart Mother" and "Ummagumma", and almost 4 years after their debut and subseqeunt loss of lead singer and writer Syd Barret, Floyd finally finds that so recognisable "Pink Floyd sound". "Meddle" may well be the most revoultionary of all Pink Floyd's albums, as without this, "Dark Side Of the Moon" WOULD NOT EXIST! Side 1 is a collection of some great songs, with the addictive opening guitar riff of "One Of These Days", to the subdue "Fearless" and "A Pillow of Dreams". The next couple of songs aren't as memorable as the opening tracks, but still make for an interesting experiment as Floyd tests with different sounds including a dog bark for "Seamus"! Then there's "Echoes". Calling this song the towering achievement of the "Post Syd Barret-Pre-Dark Side Of The Moon Era" is an understatement. Taking up the whole of Side 2, "Echoes" is one of Pink Floyd's most ambitious track, and the perfect guiding light to Dark Side Of The Moon. The Lyrics? Beautiful. The Music? Astonishing. the Vocals? Subdue and calm. Pure beauty. Echoes remains one of the best tracks Floyd ever recorded.
Anyway here's a run down of the tracks:

One of These Days: 9/10
A Pillow of Winds: 9/10
Fearless: 8/10
San Tropez: 6/10
Seamus: 7/10
Echoes: 10/10

"Meddle" is the bridge for Pink Floyd. This album, unfairly underlooked, propelled them from the dirge of the late 60's-early 70's to a land of stadium rock, pigs, walls, division bells, and the eclipse of the moon...........

What are you waiting for? Buy or download it NOW!!

(first review. It's not very good =S)

Maybe the greatest range in quality on a Pink Floyd album, but there aren't many albums with the greatest prog rock opus ever recorded and then a throwaway track about a dog.

Track picks
1. One Of These Days
3. Fearless
6. Echoes

Very ITCoTCK-inspired, but still outstanding on its own. Echoes will always be a top-tier Pink Floyd tune. Merry Christmas.

Just for Echoes alone you have to love this album. Not their most consistent but still a very solid album.
