I just don't like The Smiths, and it's not for lack of trying. I have all their albums and have listened to them over and over and over. They just all sound like the same song and the same album. Something about Morrissey's voice just bores me. I have read many comments on here that if you have heard one Bob Dylan album then you have heard them all. I can understand that sentiment, but I would argue that the same criticism could be equally applied to The Smiths, with one major difference being that I like all Dylan's music. I know The Smiths are loved by all on this forum and that this comment will probably get me bannished from this website, but I wanted to speak my mind...not to try to start something but just to see if there are any others out there who feel the same way I do. Oh but whether a band is overrated or not is entirely subjective ain't it? Being my favourite ever band I could argue that The Smiths are in fact underrated and I find it very hard to appreciate quite how anybody could dislike their music. That's just me though.

The Smiths are boring. I do enjoy a lyric or two of theirs, but all in all I feel like they are boring. Only these songs redeem them from me hating them: How Soon Is Now, Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others, Panic, Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want, Ask, Nowhere Fast.
