One of my favorites and easily one of the best albums of the 70s. Really funky. Green Day could take a lesson from this album on how to write political rock. The lyrics are intelligent and interesting. Gang of Four are truly one of the most underrated bands ever. The follow up to Entertainment!, Solid Gold, is great as well.

Couldn't agree more ! Solid Gold is very good too, but far from this near perfect punk album.
should be higher in the overall chart.

I don't understand this statement, how can be a genre "overrated"? There are good and bad albums in every genre, plus "postpunk" is hardly a genre in itself, more a period of time IMO.

Anyway, I love this record. It's very good from start to fiunish. However, oddly enough, I've never bothered to listen to any other Gang of Four LPs. Are they good?

IMHO not as good as 'Entertainment!' but don't let me put you off having a listen.

I also agree that postpunk was a period of time (ca. 1978 - 1984) rather than a specific genre as such!

I've only listened to this once a while ago, and didn't really think it was anything special.

I'll have to give it another listen in the coming days.

Actually, I would say that post-punk is most definitely a genre.
