I was in the chart section of HMV today looking at the music. There was some new releases but I didn't know what to pick. There was absolutely nothing I wanted to listen to. It was either acts I had previous albums for and had no desire to get the new one the moment it came out or artists that weren't interesting to me at all. Must have been there a good 10 minutes and it was all feeling tedious. Disheartening but not worth being sad or upset about.
Then all of a sudden this girl rushes past me. Couldn't have been older than 8 years. She goes right up to the shelf, pulls off the new Mumford & Sons album and beaming a massive smile rushes off the counter holding it with her hand out stretched. Her father (or other older relation, I'm only guessing) approves of it and follows her to the counter with a smile too.
And this... this made my day. Just seeing someone so happy with the prospect of getting a new music album was fantastic. And they were so young too! It really got my hopes seeing that a new generation can be so enthusiastic!
How do you feel about this story? Have you seen anything like it? ๐

I think it's fantastic... Reminds me of going to Sam the Record Man when I was a teenager. I couldn't blow my wages fast enough, and was excited by so much.
I'd love to see a kid act like that. _________________ Finnegan was super bad-ass.

Can't say too much though, I think I was listening to a lot of TLC at the age of 8.

CrazySexyCool and FanMail are two of the best pop albums of the '90's. And their singles were consistently amongst the best released for the better part of a decade. A great band.

I won't argue with that. Blow Mumford And Sons out of the water.
