Girlfriend by Matthew Sweet

Resigned by Michael Penn

I've decided to part ways with Matthew Sweet. As much as I like his stuff, Michael Penn just does it better, for my tastes at least. Similar voices, similar guitars. Michael Penn just writes better songs and executes them with more finesse.

Post an album that scratched an itch, and an album that scratched it better.

I am not sure what you are going on about here. From what I undertand... I have nothing like what you are saying. If I do I have completely forgot the former... well I am not sure

This is what I'm going on about here: normally my music tastes are cumulative. I like something, I keep it. Now, I'm at a point where I have too much music, and sometimes things have to go, even if they're perfectly good. Sometimes there's something that does it better.

This site is all about value judgements. What did you choose instead of something else?

Understand?

It also could be interesting an interesting thread in terms of discovery. Maybe someone likes Matthew Sweet but has never heard Michael Penn, and is curious enough to check him out.

Maybe you've chosen something over an album I already love, and I'm curious enough to check it out.

That's what I'm going for.
