Amazing, though I could say that about at least half a dozen Waits albums. One of the more impressive discographies amongst artists of his popularity and caliber. My favourite is Small Change, though this isn't far behind.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww yeah. The ultimate go-for-broke, drink till you can't see anymore album; I think few albums have both the variety of musical styles as well as variety of strong, unfiltered emotions, and the way it moves from surrealist, theatrical numbers to somber, slower laments is just beguiling. It's been my favorite album at times, and one of the greatest statements ever about the exhilirating, terrifying feeling of having nothing to lose.

Number 4 on my chart for 1985. Really good album. Never been a Tom Waits fan but this album is truly something else.

It's a really good album.

Funny story here, I was in the car with my mom, I had just purchased Straight outta Compton and this album. My mom was complaining because of the vulgar lyrics of Straight outta Compton and so i changed what I was playing to this album. Her reaction was like Shocked

Everytime I hear this it goes up about ten places in my chart.

Might even be in my top 10 one day.
