  • Post subject: Help! THE ULTIMATE 90`s PARTY PLAYLIST
  • Reply with quote
The 90`s seem so far away, but recently I went to a club in NYC where the night`s theme was THE 90`s. They had this cover band called the Bayside Tigers playing. It`s has been one of the most amazing nights I ever had in my life. I`m trying to make this great playlist for an actual 90`s party.

I`ve compiled various genres. I just didn`t include any non-party material

Beautiful Smile

I''ll think of some good songs in a moment. You will have to be careful about putting on something too despressing or sombre though.

Good list. Here's some of the more uptempo ones from my 90s nostalgia playlist:

All I Wanna Do - Sheryl Crow
Hell - Squirrel Nut Zippers
Santeria - Sublime
What I Got - Sublime
Ruby Soho - Rancid
Popular - Nada Surf
Hey Dude - Kula Shaker
Here in Your Bedroom - Goldfinger
The Way - Fastball
Hitchin' A Ride - Green Day
Shimmer - Fuel
Long Day - Matchbox 20
Lithium - Nirvana
Story of My Life - Social Distortion
Interstate Love Song - Stone Temple Pilots

You need some Chemical Brothers. "Life Is Sweet", "Setting Sun", "Hey Girl Hey Boy" or "Out of Control" should do the trick. Also, since you have "Jump Around", "Insane In the Brain" by Cypress Hill is almost compulsory. Some Missy, "Get Ur Freak On" maybe? And Busta Rhymes' "Whoo Ha! Got You All In Check". And "Scooby Snacks" by Fun Lovin' Criminals. And... oh wait, I'll think up an alternate playlist.

EDIT: just saw you already had "Hey Girl Hey Boy". But you don't have Beck's "Loser"! You need it.

Nice, I'll be using some of these songs for my own 90s list, which is here on Spotify.

However, 99 Luftballoons is about as 80s as it gets.

Pulp - Common People
Stone Roses - Fools Gold
Biggie - Juicy
Run DMC - It's Like That (remix version)
Wu Tang - Gravel Pit
Underworld - Born Slippy

All I can think of right now past what you've already said, those are the sort of songs I'd expect to hear at a 90s/indie night. Also if you're having Limp Bizkit and Blink 182 then Papa Roach's Last Resort is a must, type of thing I'd go crazy for when drunk enough.
