This is my favorite Elliot Smith album. Such a solid album with Smith's indie singer/songwriter sensibilities done better than anyone else. Kickass.

I love this album. It has a really great sense of melody and harmony that is reminiscent of The Beatles, but also the isolated and subdued brilliance of Pink Moon. 'Between The Bars' and 'Say Yes' are easily some of the best songs I have ever heard. Just one of the best albums of the 90s for me. _________________

It's beautiful yet tragic.
An absolutely amazing album.
This album has been there for me in some tough times, probably should be higher than it is in my overall chart. _________________

Something about this album just doesn't click with me, yet it's pretty much perfect in terms of what I like about an album. It's probably Smith's greatest selection of tunes, but I dunno, something just never sounds right. I think it might be the instrumentation - the loud drums for instance really don't suit his hush voice and acoustic guitar.
His debut will always my favourite - it's like a depressing Pink Moon.

I enjoy it. Pretty light listening, but great if you're in the mood for it.

"Between the Bars" might be the saddest song of all time... at least to me it is.

Either that or "Waltz #2 (XO)", also by Elliott Smith.
Those 2 songs just get to me. _________________

One of those albums I know I really like but just never seem to think to put on. _________________
