It is known. Sabbath's First Six are one of mankind's crowning achievements.

Of those First Six, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is the only one I don't consider essential. While I actually like the classic rock direction they take on "Sabra Cadabra" (which features Rich Wakeman of Yes on keyboards), they can't really pull it off on the two closers - "Looking For Today" and "Spiral Architect." That said, it's still really solid, and "Killing Yourself To Live" is easily one of my favorite Sabbath tracks.

The Ozzy Years

Essential
Masters of Reality
Black Sabbath
Paranoid
Vol 4.
Sabatoge

Solid Additions
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

Interesting Excursion
Technical Ecstasy (quite good if you can digest Sabbath being just another AOR Hard Rock band)

Say Die
Never Say Die

This is where it all started to go wrong, for my money. The first four records are basically untouchable, but this isn't close to that level. They'd become too polished. It's still better than what came after, and it has some great songs, but it signals the beginning of the demise.

I think it's great, this is actually my third favourite Sabbath album, after Paranoid and Black Sabbath... Anxious
