OK, so Boy is great. Don't get me wrong, in the way of "things that aren't on my chart", Boy is probably #1. It's a great album.
But you have to look at what Boy is. Boy is U2's attempt to fill in the hole that Joy Division left behind. Bono has stated that his goal was to be the best band in the world other than Joy Division, because he knew he couldn't get there.
So while Lillywhite's production has always been incredible, and U2's music has usually been great, this is just not a hard decision.
If you still don't believe me, just remember that Boy's best song is about missing Ian Curtis. _________________
Unknown pleasures is pretty good no doubt. "She's Lost Control" is brilliant.
However I haven't heard U2's debut yet and I do not have any hate for U2, they're quite a good band and they were absolutely a great band no doubt. So ill give "Boy" a listen. _________________ -Ryan
