And you had a fun summer but it's suddenly over,
If you want a bit of love, put your head on my shoulder,
It's cool"

I've cut all the crap from what I had in this because it contributed to absolutely nothing. I really like this album, and I can see why people just consider it average junk. It's nothing groundbreaking, and you can get it from so many other records. But I can't, the feeling I get from this album is almost inexplicable. The first few listens were just pleasing, but now I get so much from this, so much comes back into my mind. Wetsuit and Family Friend remind me of that summer a couple of years back when I actually started to shape as a person and started to feel so many emotions I'd never felt. Norgaard and If You Wanna remind me of the naive fun I'd have in 2011. All In White and A Lack of Understanding remind me of my first actual breakup, which in the long term is rewarding as I was only 13 and I didn't actually need a relationship. Wreckin' Bar and Under Your Thumb remind me of that girl I used to have a massive crush on that I'd go insane if she spoke to me. All these just add up, and when I listen to it, I realise that this was all just less than 3 years ago, but I still get a MASSIVE rush of bittersweet feelings.

My childhood has basically gone, I'm no longer that innocent, shy boy I used to be, who was cooped up in his room playing shitty PS3 games like LittleBigPlanet and LEGO Star Wars, and occasionally GTA/CoD/FIFA (though I'm still cooped up in my room most of the time). I no longer have the incentive to climb the treehouse in my back garden as a form of escapism, I no longer want to play on the tyre swing, and I no longer care about that trampoline I still have. I don't have the two cute rodents I had, I don't read the same books, and I don't even nearly think the same way.

What I'm trying to say is, this makes me realise that in the space of about 32 months, I've expanded so much, and it makes me realise, wow, time is too precious to worry about this shit, and I eventually stop worrying about it and try to become even more of a better person.

Really have a soft spot for this album. Really nice, and fits incredibly well with summer. Just a nice little fun album Smile

Just middling, NME-approved indie rock. Nothing exceptional about this one whatsoever. I guess every generation of 14-year-olds need their Strokes or their Libertines; I just feel sorry for those who got lumbered with this uninspired dreck.

I, for one (and for once because we rarely differ) think one should not altogether disrespect the simple pleasure given by this nice enough record. Sure, it's nothing exceptional. But once in a while, I'll accept a nice indie record that does not pretend to be above its station and is just one (once in a lifetime?) fun listen. OK, maybe I was in a good mood the two or three times I listened to this? Maybe I can only accept so many records of this type and it just randomly befell that one that one month a few years ago? I don't know, I will never. Anyway, give it a listen, you won't love it, but it's not such a total waste of time imo.

I saw them live once, they were absurdly bad. That said, the sound of the scene was really shitty so maybe it's not their fault. I'll definitely listen to this at some point anyway.

Can't stand the album, but I love that note, and I'll take heartfelt commentary on an album I dislike over a blank-note album which I do enjoy any day

I didn't like this album when I heard it, but I agree with the bolded part. I'd take this over Tame Impala, The Strokes, LCD Soundsystem, Vampire Weekend, and all those other pompous indie pricks any day.

This album is certainly loads of fun, I definitely enjoy it. And I would agree with Drak, The Vaccines are awful live so, therefore, I reckon they are much better on record- so possibly there might be something that you might enjoy, Drak.

And I absolutely adore SuedeSwede's note- it is beautifully written and something that I can relate with. I feel exactly the same way with several albums which, unlike you, I no longer have on my chart, not because I don't love them, but I never listen to them anymore- there's too much nostalgia involved. I definitely appreciate you having this album, as well as Costello Music, on your chart, as it reminds me of my younger years.

A nice album that has its place and is enjoyable enough as an Indie Rock album. Just not a great album for me, it lacks a spark of something special.
