Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.5/100, a mean average of 77.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.0.

It's like the beginning of a new age in. music. It's a departure from the 50's, like "Shout" from the Isley Brothers. And at the same moment it feels like a mature work, it's not the pure youthful spirit that drives this record, even though Bobby sometimes screams and growls with a tremendous energy far from the reflected perspective, that one finds in his later work. it is so exciting, how fresh this record sounds. he opened the Blues doors into a new time.

This is blues and not too far away from deep cuts.

B.B. King said that Bobby Bland was the greatest blues singer he ever knew. That's high praise, as B.B. was a great singer as well as a great guitar player. Bobby Bland will make a believer of you as well if you listen to this album.
Favorite songs: I Pity The Fool, St. James Infirmary, Two Steps From the Blues.

Bland is one of the five greatest singers of all time. His voice, tone, phrasing are wonderful. And this album is a masterpiece every bit with many jewels like "I'll Take Care Of You", the tittle track and above all, "Lead Me On".

You know how it feels-you understand
What is it to be a stranger, in this unfriendly land.
