Their 2018 album was my favorite of that year. This one is great but I don't think I like it as much. It's definitely more emotional and spiritual but not as fun. It will probably stay pretty high in 2023 at least and was my most anticipated album this year. My expectations were pretty high and filled pretty solidly on point I'd say.
Great solid record and a beautiful discovery. It adds some fizz to the numbness of what has been this year (musically speaking) since now (Edited)
Spiritual and earthy, ‘Heavy Heavy’ is a nice development of the unique sound Young Fathers carve out for themselves.
Not much of a fan of this, but i see why others might like it (Edited)

If you compare "Heavy Heavy" to the rest of their discography, there is a debate about the quality of the individual songs if you only look at the purely intrinsic level. On the other hand, the outcome of the project and the exciting and masterful concept make "Heavy Heavy" an album of great value »
