There is a lightness to the arrangement of “Dawn of the Final Hour” that really helps with the listenability. The space lets the melody be easily identified and followed. Sampled vocal arrangements are allowed move in and out when needed. The album is also very explorative, changing concept and tone often. The somber and melody driven “My Broken Heart” is followed up by the more driven drum and base of “How to Fall Out of Love (Again and Again)” with surprising smoothness. The down side to this exploration is that some of the ideas are not very deep. “Come Back, I Miss You” is flat and never amounts to anything beyond the vocal howl. While there could be some refinement, “Dawn of the Final Hour” is able to remain a breeze to listen to.
