90s nostalgia.... I'm in.
For me, it started a lil slow but once ‘Ooh Rap I Ya’ got into its stride I was hooked on the lush and reverb drenched production, dream-like chorus dripping instrumentals and hypnotic drum grooves. Real nice!

“Ooh Rap I Ya” fills every part of the ear. The production is broad and encompassing. It takes the lushness of vaporwave and pulls it over the weight of 90’s dance. Every time a track starts, you are enveloped in a wave of synths. There is a great moment on “Punching Down” where, halfway through a new synth hits and it takes the track to another level. The drums are particularly exquisite with a little kick put on every time they hit. The vocals fit perfectly into the instruments. They blend in and flesh out the sound even further. Lyrically, it is not bad, but there are missed opportunities to use words to make the music even more expressive. Full, rich, and ethereal, though I still have no idea what Ooh Rap I Ya means.
