Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 8% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.0/100, a mean average of 74.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.3.

“Ooh Rap I Ya” fills every part of the ear. The production is broad and encompassing. It takes the lushness of vaporwave and pulls it over the weight of 90’s dance. Every time a track starts, you are enveloped in a wave of synths. There is a great moment on “Punching Down” where, halfway through a new synth hits and it takes the track to another level. The drums are particularly exquisite with a little kick put on every time they hit. The vocals fit perfectly into the instruments. They blend in and flesh out the sound even further. Lyrically, it is not bad, but there are missed opportunities to use words to make the music even more expressive. Full, rich, and ethereal, though I still have no idea what Ooh Rap I Ya means. For me, it started a lil slow but once ‘Ooh Rap I Ya’ got into its stride I was hooked on the lush and reverb drenched production, dream-like chorus dripping instrumentals and hypnotic drum grooves. Real nice! (Edited)
