“Love Hallucination” is unintentionally minimalistic. Production leaves the synths feeling shrunk. It is just one layer of synths playing over emptiness. There are some nice grooves, but they can’t progress because there is nothing to support them. The vocals are similar, with it sounding like a whisper in a conversation. There isn’t much from the lyrics, but perhaps more emotion could be gathered if there was more room. The whole project just feels small.

Starts OK, though it is just lush pop. But the second half is soooo bland, with unbelieveably lame beats.

Very disappointing effort from Jessy. After moving to LA, she has left behind almost all of those lush, fun, signature UK beats and basslines. The mix of synthpop/R&B with the more club oriented bangers worked on the last record, but now instead of a healthy mix, it's all lifeless and bland, "moody" synthpop/R&B. It's like moving from a cool underground club after party to a vanilla beach bar. An evolution of her sound which I don't dig, unfortunately. That being said, this is still Jessy Lanza, there are some diamonds in the rough like the first two tracks.
