Finally: A live album arrives to properly demonstrate the obvious quality of Neal Francis' burgeoning library. Where the studio releases are marred by covid-era or church-attic-esque production values, the power of the live versions of ALL OF THESE SONGS absolutely explode off of the disc. There's not a bad cut here and, yeah, I know the album has only been out for a couple of weeks at this point, but we're looking at an all-timer if people will just listen to it.
Neal and his 11-piece(!) band serve court on Francis Comes Alive as a logical musical continuation of the work began by, say, Leon Russell and the Shelter People: an old sound (and vibe) made fresh again.
