So often when a folky, rocky singer-songwriter project comes my way, I roll my eyes and wonder how many more Neutral Milk Micro-clones there can be — artists aping the aesthetics of better writers without understanding how those aesthetics came to be. Much rarer is it that I hear a voice in that tradition of real quality and insight; James Keegan is one of these voices.
