Pretty good album by these guys (Joseph Arthur and R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck), though it won't make anybody forget R.E.M. unless they just have a really bad memory. There's some rock, some pop, some blues, maybe some bad seafood, but nothing weird or "experimental" to speak of. Production sound is just a cut above lo-fi, which I suspect is intentional. To me, the standout track is probably #5, "Don't Try To Understand It," which I guess is a reference to the album cover, since it's impossible to understand why they would approve something like that.
