Sweet list, like the early comps, like the later 2000's stuff I hadn't heard yet. Check out my list "These Albums Have Acoustic Guitar" for recs. My criteria is much looser than yours but it has a similar spirit. I wonder if you are not including new agey stuff on purpose like Michael Hedges, Steve Tibbetts, or Preston Reed? You have Will Ackerman here so I assume you are a little flexible. Also, Daniel Hecht and Henry Taussig would be good additions regardless. And for goodness sakes, Visions of the Mother-Freakin Country please!!! Much love.
Coming back to this is great! Those American Primitive comps are marvelous! Thanks for introducing to me way back.
Norman, if you have any recs, please do. I'm piecing together my contribution to the Genre Extravaganza with a dive into American Primitive. This is the skeleton. Questioning whether or not to include such things as Sun City Girls and 16 Horsepower that take from the genre, but that opens a can of worms in the process.
Wow. Bible right here.
