I hesitate to top off a list with a live album, particularly when the songs have been released before, but circles is one of my favorite studio albums, and i'm just as stunned at the live performances from anne paceo and co.

This is a beautiful record with guest spots from a number of my favorites, including camille and salif keita.

Lived up to expectations. probably surpassed them. this band has grown quite a bit over the last couple years. all-in-all, a great prog record from a great post-punk band, if we're still calling them that.

This may be the most inspired modest mouse record since good news. strangers to ourselves was unadventurous and disappointing. i'm not convinced we were dead was much better. although there's nothing particularly groundbreaking here, there's an ambition behind these songs and in the willingness to try new ideas that scratches a modest itch i've had since good news. i'm always a sucker for modest mouse, but even with that in mind, this is a great record. lyrically, it sounds like isaac brock has turned a corner, highlighting the positives for the better part of the album, giving us the most optimistic modest mouse record to date.

Southeast of Rain ended up being lovely, tysm. Gonna have to check out some of the other stuff here I haven't heard as well.
