A full year of pandemic certainly isn't a great starting point when it comes to evaluating the way a year has gone. I'll say this for 2021, though: it was a year that brought me a tremendous sense of clarity around my values and goals for the future. In November I went on a 21-day rafting trip on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon, and it was a genuinely life-altering experience. I spent those three weeks on the river with some of the finest human beings I've ever known, sleeping out under the Milky Way, eating gourmet food, crashing through massive whitewater, playing music, and sharing stories and laughter. It was wonderful. A week after my return, I quit my job, which was absolutely what was needed to kick me into the next phase of my life. I am grateful for the sense of clarity that trip gave me, and I am excited for the next chapter. The albums in this chart are the one that helped me to gain, and retain, that healthy sense of perspective.
