I absolutely love this album. It doesn't have the killer riff which opens 'In Absentia' or the trippy spaces of 'Voyage 34' but it sure as hell has everything else! I personally like 'Piano Lessons', 'Pure Narcotic' and 'Don't Hate Me'. But it's all brilliant!

With Purple Haze, Hey Joe, Foxy Lady and Voodoo Child, it can be nothing other than a great album. Then throw in Red House and Spanish Castle Magic for good measure!
I have had this album on CD for years and hadn’t really listened to it much. Having now got hold of a copy on vinyl, I have taken the time to listen to it properly. ‘Golden Age of Steam’, ‘Days of Long Ago’ and ‘In Memoriam’ make the album for me. Interesting snippet of information, the track Darktown portrays Steve’s miserable School experience, getting spanked in front of the class just for asking a monitor where to go…
