In this chart I will do a chronological listing of my favourite UK artists and the album I rate most highly from each of them. This chart thus becomes my journey through the past 60 years of UK artists & albums.
Sadly, with a chart list of only 100, I will have to leave out lots of exceptional artists - so maybe stay tuned for a top 101 - 200 UK chart to fill in the gaps.
I was born in the mid 50's, and the 70's became 'my music decade' ~ when I spent most of my waking hours absorbed in the extraordinary music that emerged during that period, without the distraction of work or family. It was also the time when I showed a passion for songwriters and my own songwriting.
Accordingly, this chart shows a strong bias to the 70's and to UK songwriters regardless of the decade ~ for which I make no apologies.
